country: East Asia
organization:  Pioneers

focus: special needs children; church-planting

Allyson has been serving in East Asia since 2003 with Pioneers.
Pioneers is committed to seeing multiplying churches among people
who have never heard the gospel and who have limited resources in
their language.

Allyson works in one of the most spiritually dark cities in Asia
with a team that is committed to seeing a movement of church-
planting churches. The team spends much time in prayer, listening
to the Holy Spirit and following His leading to strategically reach
the city for Christ.

One of her favorite projects over the past year has been designing a
calendar that has been distributed to hundreds of families in the
community. This calendar includes Biblical truths that opens the
door to conversations about the Christian faith.

Allyson has been trained as a physical therapist and child development
and her main ministry is an education consultant for families with
special needs kids. She goes into schools and homes, building
relationships and sharing the gospel conversationally.

One family she works with has a child with cerebral palsy. She has
made miraculous progress, meeting twice a week for speech therapy.
She has been able to build a great relationship with the family and
shared how God is enabling her to heal their child.

Pray for Allyson as we partner with her, shining the light of Jesus
in the darkest places.
